The purpose of this abridged version is to offer a condensed textbook for busy undergraduate and graduate students. The following changes are by Alana Hoare and Jeisil CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 licence:
and licensed under a- Simplified and condensed language to make the textbook more concise without losing essential meaning.
- Eliminated redundant and supplementary material while ensuring that the abridged version remains coherent and comprehensive despite these omissions.
- Reorganized chapters and content to ensure that the flow of information in the abridged version maintains a clear instructional path.
- Added content and learning activities related to the literature review, including:
- determining and defining a research topic and context;
- searching the literature;
- organizing and theming the literature; and,
- writing the literature review.
- Added content and learning activities related to knowledge mobilization, including:
- how to publish in an academic journal; and,
- inclusive design principles for developing a conference poster.
- Adapted some of the language to be more inclusive of decolonial research methodologies, shifting the emphasis from the scientific method and creating space for (un)traditional scholarly study informed by (non)traditional research in education done in partnership or in community.
